Created in June 1983, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ is a development capital company that appeals to the savings and solidarity of the entire Quebec population. Its main mission is to contribute to Québec's economic growth by creating, maintaining or safeguarding jobs through investment in businesses in all sectors of Québec's economy. One of its objectives also consists of encouraging retirement savings and providing its hundreds of thousands of shareholder-savers with a reasonable return , in addition to the superior tax advantages granted to them.
The Solidarity Fund QFL is the largest development capital investment network in Quebec and was created at the initiative of the FTQ , the largest labor federation in Quebec. Through its governance and its codes of ethics , it acts as a socially responsible investor concerned with human and sustainable economic development . In addition, beyond the capital invested, it is committed to supporting business development by offering value-added services, including economic training .
The Fonds de solidarité FTQ, whose net assets were $18.3 billion as of November 30, 2021, has become a hub of knowledge and resources for the benefit of Québec businesses, and a key player in the Québec economy.
